Associate

Vidya is an associate of the firm, with a focus on family law, private client matters and civil and commercial litigation. She has also developed experience across various legal sectors including criminal litigation, estate matters and capital markets work.

Vidya brings a diligent and clear-headed approach to every matter, while remaining sensitive to the personal circumstances behind each dispute. 

​

Vidya graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours). During her studies, Vidya was a finalist in both the Criminal Magistrate Moot Court and the Civil Moot Court. These experiences strengthened her written and oral advocacy, as well as her ability to engage thoughtfully with clients and decision-makers.

Before commencing practice, Vidya worked in the Capital Markets practice of a UK Magic Circle Firm, where she handled SGX listing workstreams for debt securities and worked directly with clients, counsel and the Singapore Exchange. Vidya also served as a strand head on the firm's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. ​​​

EXPERIENCE

Vidya has experience across a broad range of civil, commercial and criminal matters. She has worked on disputes at every stage of proceedings, from taking initial instructions and conducting legal research to drafting pleadings and submissions, preparing evidence for trial and supporting appeals before the Court of Appeal. Her experience includes significant and sensitive matters, as well as criminal matters requiring the preparation of representations and mitigation pleas.

Prior to commencing practice, Vidya gained transactional experience in capital markets, advising on SGX debt securities listings and supporting clients through listing processes. This has given her a strong grounding in reviewing complex documentation, managing detail-intensive workstreams and coordinating effectively among clients, counsel, regulators and other stakeholders.

Vidya has also worked on contentious family, estate and private client matters. She has assisted with probate documents, wills and the review of detailed financial records, and has supported clients through negotiations, mediation and court proceedings. She approaches these often-sensitive matters with discretion, empathy and a clear understanding of the practical and personal considerations involved.
