Shayna Robinson

Associate

Shayna has previously worked in a Big 4 law firm in Singapore and has worked on complex commercial and civil litigation matters at all levels including before the appellate courts. Shayna’s experience and subject matter expertise spans a broad range of practice areas, including but not limited to international arbitration, employment law, cryptocurrency disputes, medical negligence, insolvency, and complex cross border banking and finance cases.

Shayna graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), where she was awarded the Koh Han Kok Prize for Best Student in Public International Law and was awarded a merit scholarship. She was an active mooter both internationally and domestically, emerging Champion in the Frankfurt Investment Arbitration Moot and as Champion (Team) and Best Individual Negotiator in the BlackOak Transactional Negotiation Moot.

Before entering law school, Shayna was 1 of 5 selected from a pool of over 100 applicants to be a United World College scholar. Shayna spent two years at United World College in Changshu, China from its founding. She earned an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, achieving a raw score of 41 out of 42. Her time in mainland China helped her develop intermediate skills in both written and spoken Mandarin, and she is currently taking a language course to further enhance her fluency.

 

EXPERIENCE
Complex Civil and Commercial Litigation

  • Acted for an ex-employee in a 10-day Singapore High Court trial involving novel issues of employment law in a high profile reported judgment ([2026] SGHC 15; reported in the Straits Times: https://str.sg/CPZ4), successfully arguing that the multinational software company had breached the implied term of mutual trust and confidence by behaving in an “intolerable or wholly unacceptable” manner

  • Acted in a complex medical negligence suit in the Singapore High Court involving the wrongful death of a baby

  • Acted in the Singapore High Court, successfully resisting bankruptcy proceedings brought against a High-Net-Worth Individual client both at first instance and on appeal

  • Acted in the Singapore High Court for a UAE-incorporated investment company against a regulated financial advisory firm for claims of fraud and deceit, leading to multi-million-dollar losses

  • Acted for a global banking client in the Singapore High Court, successfully striking out claims brought by multiple claimants alleging misrepresentation, fraud and conspiracy, and securing substantial costs

  • Acted for financial advisory institution in the Singapore High Court, defending a US$2.5mn claim brought by an Accredited Investor alleging fraud, negligence, and unjust enrichment

International Arbitration

  • Acted for largest Russian state-owned bank under a derivatives agreement in a SIAC arbitration dispute worth over US$250mn

  • Acted for a listed American technology company against a Vietnamese Edu-tech company in a SIAC Arbitration concerning a multi-million-dollar breach of contract
