Gloria Tan

Senior Associate

Gloria is a senior associate in the firm’s Family & Private Clients and Litigation & Disputes practice groups.

Gloria has experience in all aspects of family law matters. This includes representing clients in contentious and non-contentious divorce proceedings and matters involving children issues, maintenance and division of matrimonial assets.  She has also represented clients in family violence applications.

Gloria has also advised clients on pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements and wills.

Apart from family law matters, Gloria has represented healthcare institutions and healthcare professionals in civil claims, disciplinary proceedings before the Singapore Medical Council and Coroner’s Inquiry hearings.   

EXPERIENCE

Some of the matters that Gloria has been involved in include: 

• WVN v WVO [2024] SGHCF 32, successfully acted for the wife in an appeal to the High Court on the division of matrimonial assets (involving the valuation and division of performance shares unit) and maintenance (including backdated spousal maintenance) .

• XEW v XEV [2025] SGHCF 5, acted for the husband in an appeal to the High Court on the stay of divorce proceedings in Singapore.

• Represented clients in jurisdictional issues applications involving applications to stay Singapore proceedings on children issues and / or division of matrimonial assets.

• Singapore Medical Council v Dr Chen Yun Hian Christopher [2024] SMDCT4, acted for doctor at the disciplinary proceedings before the SMC.

ACCOLADES

• Co-authored the chapter on injunctions in family law proceedings in the Law and Practice of Family Law in Singapore (2nd Edition, Sweet & Maxwell).
