Aaron Kok

Deputy Managing Partner

Aaron is a partner in the firm’s Corporate & Commercial practice group and brings to the table more than 15 years of experience working on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, including cross-border mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity and venture capital and complex group restructurings.

Having worked at one of Singapore’s largest law firms as well as leading international law firms, many of his transactions span multiple jurisdictions and Aaron’s well-versed knowledge of foreign direct investment regulations allows him to work closely with his clients to structure and guide them through complex transactions across Asia, in particular Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines.

Aaron has the added valuable industry experience in advising clients on energy projects in the renewable energy sector in Asia, including C&I solar projects, PPAs, offshore wind and joint ventures and M&As in the sector. 

He is also a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals and works alongside financial advisors and asset managers on the set up of single family offices and investment funds via Variable Capital Companies in Singapore.

Clients value and appreciate Aaron’s calm and measured transaction management skills, the ability to quickly get under the skin of a deal and his practical and highly commercial advice.

  • Representing a Swedish global investment organization on the sale of controlling stake in one of Asia’s largest professional services firms. 

  • Representing an Indonesian family office on the sale of shares in a geothermal energy company for more than USD112,000,000. 

  • Representing a leading tower company in the Philippines as Singapore counsel in a financing transaction worth USD565,000,000.

  • Representing a Taiwan-based asset manager in a proposed USD52,000,000 acquisition of a Delaware based mobile application developer.

  • Representing a UK AIM-listed corporation in relation to the sale of its Singapore subsidiary in a deal worth GBP6,000,000.

  • Representing an Indonesia-based technology start-up on its restructuring and Pre-Series A fund raising in Singapore. 

  • Representing one of Singapore’s fastest growing deep technology solution and service organizations on its acquisition of 8 companies for SGD21,000,000.

  • Representing one of Sri Lanka’s largest construction groups on its joint venture for the construction and development of an ultra-luxury island resort in the Maldives. 

  • Representing a Singapore licensed fund manager on the establishment of a fund as an umbrella Variable Capital Company. 

  • Representing a leading South-East Asia renewable energy service provider on its M&As, joint ventures as well as its PPAs involving solar energy and steam.
